The third ICE-ARC General Assembly will be held at Malangen resort near Tromsø, Norway where ICE-ARC partner Norwegian Polar Institute are based.

Abstracts: Please submit your abstracts online, this can be done after registration, until the deadline of the 30 September 2016. Everyone should try to either give a talk, and/or present a poster on their work. If you’ve done a poster for a previous meeting, please bring it along (but add the abstract so we have the right number of boards).
Malangan Resort – Important Information:
Getting there: The resort is an hour’s drive from Tromsø, a coach transfer will be provided from Tromsø centre NPI at 17:30, and at 19:00 from the airport on Tuesday 18th October, it will return to Tromsø on Friday morning at 9:00, wherever possible please organise you travel around these times. If you need to travel outside these times the options are car hire and self-drive, or taxi (2100NOK), please advise us of your travel plans so we can coordinate sharing of transport wherever possible.
Accommodation: Accommodation is provided in shared cabins, each cabin sleeps 3 people in 3 bedrooms with shared living area and bathroom. The cost is 675NOK per person per night, breakfast is 95NOK. When you register please state who you will be sharing with, or if not we contact you to assign cabins. Payment for the accommodation will be at the resort, if however, you cancel within 30 days before the stay you will be invoiced for a proportion of the cost.
There are a small number of hotel rooms available priced at 1675NOK per night please contact us ASAP if you need to reserve one.
The conference dinner on Wednesday will be provided, dinner on the other evenings will be added to your bill.

General Assembly Meeting
The General Assembly will begin with an opening session before separating into Work Package discussion sessions, followed by themed presentations and discussions. When registering please indicate which Work Package meeting you would like to attend. There will also be a poster session, please state if you will be providing a poster. The meeting will conclude with summary talks.
Work Package Discussion Groups:
Work Package 1 – Improving observational capabilities and reducing uncertainties
Work Package 2 – Improving modelling capabilities and reducing uncertainties
Work Package 3 – Identifying socio-economic vulnerabilities within the Arctic region
Work Package 4 – Modelling socio-economic vulnerabilities and assessing management options arising from Arctic marine
Themes
The GA will be split into themes that will cross over the Work Packages, and will involve some talks and then open discussion on the topic. These themes are open for change – please let us know if you have other ideas.
Theme 1: Sea ice. Talks on summer and winter sea-ice minima, from an observation and modelling point of view, and consequences to industry sectors and indigenous peoples.
Theme 2: Atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions
Theme 3: Methodologies, integration, and lessons learnt – this discussion will concentrate on the interdisciplinary nature of ICE-ARC, focussing on space for free thinking, academic discussion on what we have learnt.
Theme 4: Stakeholder engagement – how we engage and disseminate to non-science stakeholders including communities, policy makers, and businesses.
